A Word from Pastor Dennis – August 2, 2020

1.Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2. Because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so He condemned sin in the flesh, 4.  in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8: 1-4)

What We should Know

It never ceases to amaze me how many people I meet who believe their sins will send them to hell. I have met many “good Christians” who are working hard to absolve their sins through works. So, what’s missing in this picture? One significant key is missing……GRACE.

When Jesus came, He superseded the law by paying the penalty of our sins (all of our sins) Himself. And how did He do that? He did it by subjecting Himself to a painful death on a cross. Yes, that one act of unselfish love freed us from the responsibility of personal atonement.

It is called GRACE and we should know, without a doubt, that through it we have been freed from the penalty of sin and death. We should further know that there is one and only one unforgiveable sin. (Matthew 12: 31-32), (Mark 3: 29) and (Luke 12: 10)……denial of the Holy Spirit.
