God is good and our congregation is pretty awesome too!

During the services on Sunday morning, we learned that a group of believers in Cuba needed a church home. They'd been worshiping at a home that was no longer meeting their needs and they'd grown large enough for the United Methodist conference in Cuba to establish a church and assign a pastor. This is wonderful news in itself. Our sister church in Belic, Cuba had created a mission in Marea de Belic. This mission has been holding worship services in the home of one of the followers. It has grown to 30 followers. There are many more who would like to attend if held in a building dedicated to the church.

They'd identified a house on a large lot that would house the pastor's family, allow for expansion and provide space to grow crops to sell. The cost for the house was $2400... an amount that was beyond the means their means.

Before the 11:00 service was over, our generous church members had pledged an amount that far exceeded the purchase price! The excess funds will be used for needed repairs to the home and other ongoing needs of the other two churches we support in Cuba.

We serve an awesome God and are thankful that we can support fellow believers in the growing church in Cuba.
